Scientists agree that following a balanced diet for cancer can be used as an important part of cancer therapy. A proper diet and excellent nutrition give the body proper energy and nutrients required in this battle against the cancer cells. Here are some useful ideas that you can use immediately in your fight to rid yourself of cancer.
Vegetables and Fruits
No one doubts that eating large amounts of fruits and vegetables will give your body valuable and useful substances for fighting off cancerous cells. This group of foods are just loaded with minerals, vitamins and carbohydrates. Raw vegetables are ideal, in general, because all the practical chemicals are kept intact for your body to absorb and use.
Some fruits such as citrus fruits and lemon contain anti-cancer substances that have been shown in studies to kill cancer cells. As well, vegetables and fruits are loaded in anti-oxidants, chemicals that can inactivate harmful oxygen free radicals that may cause cells to become cancerous by damaging them.
Dairy and Proteins

While there is no scientific evidence to show that getting enough water would be beneficial for cancer, it is probably a good idea to do so. Dehydration puts the body under stress. In addition, it does not allow toxic substances to be flushed away. Scientists suggest drinking 8 cups of water per day. If you find water tasteless, add some lemon juice in it. There are some studies to show that citrus fruits like oranges and lemon may be helpful in cancer treatment and prevention. If not, just drink fruit juices, the ones with no added sugars.
Some studies have uncovered that a well balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables seems to cut down the chances of many types of cancer. While there is no strong evidence to clearly prove that following a balanced diet could cure cancer, it does make common sense to do so.
